The island of Jamaica is a world
famous Caribbean vacation destination. It offers everything and more as
a place to visit to get away from the hustle and bustle of your daily routine.
Jamaica, with it's warm climate, beautiful white sand beaches, nice resort
towns, great food and warm friendly people is the perfect setting for a
tropical holiday retreat.
Negril is one of the favorite
places to visit by many of the tourists to Jamaica. It is still a small
town that has some of the most diverse accommodations in Jamaica. From
small cottages on the beach to luxury hotels on the 7 mile beach, Negril
has something for all types of tourists. It has singles hotels, honeymooner
hotels, family hotels and student hotels. It has student hostels and bed
and breakfast accommodations in private houses.
There are many things you
can do in Negril and there are near by attractions to fill your every tropical
vacation fantasy. The white sand beaches are second to none. The blue-green
waters of the Caribbean are ideal for swimming, snorkeling, or fishing.
There are all types of restaurants and local food stands that offer great
culinary pleasures at very reasonable prices. There are night clubs and
night life in the resort hotels and in the town. Most nights are spent
on the beach where live Reggae bands perform nightly as you experience
the warm night with food, drink, dancing and mingling with new friends
and the local people.
Take excursions to near by
villages and towns and experience what each area has to offer. A caution,
do not hire your driver or guide off the street. Have your Concierge or
hotel host make the arrangements for you. This is a safety precaution because
there is crime in paradise.
There are so many option
as to what you can do , you will have to choose what you want to experience
such as a walk up a river with water falls , a river boat trip to see and
feed alligators, swing on a rope over a waterfall ,buying delicious freshly
prepared food by local ladies sold at stands along the road , eating at
local outdoor cafes, visiting sugar plantations or watching local cliff
divers and so on .
Negril is a fantastic vacation
experience which I have enjoyed and look forward to returning to in the
near future.
